The Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) has raised concerns, warning that the crisis is forcing telecom base stations to shut down, threatening millions of mobile internet users.
ATCON warns that diesel shortages threaten telecom networks, risking blackouts that could disrupt businesses, emergency services, and daily communication. It urges Lagos and Ogun governors to ensure diesel supply and calls on security agencies and unions to resolve the crisis urgently.ATCON urged security agencies and petroleum unions to quickly resolve the crisis to protect Nigeria’s connectivity and economy.
It warned that prolonged fuel supply disruptions could severely impact businesses and individuals relying on stable communication networks.
