
Oando Plc has repaired and restored key oil pipelines in Bayelsa State after four spill incidents since October 2024, the latest on May 3 near Ogboinbiri flow station. The spills, caused by suspected vandalism, affected the Nun River and nearby farmlands. Oando activated emergency protocols, shutting down wells and deploying containment measures to limit environmental damage.
Joint Investigation Visits were carried out alongside government regulators and Ogboinbiri community representatives to evaluate the spills and coordinate cleanup efforts.Oando has finished repairs on the damaged pipeline segments and is replacing sections to prevent future breaches. The company reaffirmed its dedication to environmental sustainability and pledged to operate in line with industry best practices for environmental protection in its host communities.
