NNPCL: Ojulari Eyes 1.9m Barrels Daily Output by End-2025

NNPC Ltd’s CEO, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, informed President Bola Tinubu that the company aims to increase crude oil production to 1.9 million barrels per day by the end of 2025, up from the current 1.7 million barrels. The target was announced during the inauguration of the NNPC Board in Abuja.

Ojulari stated that turnaround maintenance of refineries has begun and emphasized the company’s commitment to realistic promises. He also praised the President’s economic reforms for boosting investor confidence. Minister of State for Petroleum, Heineken Lokpobiri, expressed confidence in the NNPC team’s ability to deliver.President Bola Tinubu praised the newly appointed NNPC Ltd Board, stating that members were carefully selected for their expertise, reputation, and leadership qualities. He urged them to build on the momentum of ongoing economic reforms, which have boosted Nigeria’s resilience and global competitiveness.

Emphasizing their role as a “call to duty,” Tinubu expressed confidence in their ability to help drive the country forward. He noted that the reforms are already yielding positive results and called for inward-looking solutions in response to global economic volatility.On April 18, 2025, NNPC Ltd CEO Bashir Ojulari announced a plan to attract $60 billion in investments into Nigeria’s oil and gas sector by 2030, with a short-term goal of $30 billion by 2027. This initiative is part of a broader transformation strategy to boost crude oil production and strengthen Nigeria’s energy sector. Ojulari made the pledge during a town hall meeting with staff in Abuja, shortly after taking office.
