The Federal Government has confirmed that no final decision has been made regarding the forward crude oil sale by NNPCL. It emphasized that reports claiming the initiative has failed are baseless.
This was stated in a release signed by Mohammed Manga, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Finance, Abuja.The statement reads, “The Federal Government of Nigeria is aware of recent media reports about a possible forward crude oil sale involving the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd).”“While market speculation is common amid ongoing economic reforms, the Government has not announced any final decision, and claims of the initiative’s collapse are unfounded.
”The Government remains committed to implementing innovative, transparent, and fiscally responsible financing strategies to optimize Nigeria’s oil assets, boost external liquidity, and support macroeconomic stability.
