These include tax waivers on LPG imports and equipment, streamlined importation processes, and a pricing framework by NMDPRA to ensure stability and potential price reduction.

LPG transition will curb deforestation and boost climate action, positioning Nigeria as a regional clean energy leader.
Nigeria has vast gas reserves, with 75% underutilized. The “Gas for Growth” agenda aims to boost industry, power, jobs, and energy security. Tax incentives and streamlined regulations attract investment.Nigeria halted LPG exports in Nov 2024 to boost local supply and stabilize prices. A domestic pricing framework is in progress.
The government plans further LPG infrastructure investment. Minister Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim urged women’s empowerment in energy transition.Sulaiman-Ibrahim warned against deforestation for biomass, highlighting its impact on climate and health. She urged a shift to cleaner energy like LPG and called for women’s empowerment in the transition.
Sulaiman-Ibrahim emphasized LPG access to reduce deforestation and improve health. The government is working with stakeholders to expand LPG use. Bharat Tanks CEO Darsh Agarwal expressed optimism about Africa’s LPG growth and reaffirmed his company’s commitment to sustainability.
